27 Dec 2002

Here comes TODAY! Departure day to Ireland!

I am really sorry for my absence at home in New Year's Holiday.
But I'd like to see around Winter Ireland and want to meet Yuki, of course.

Yesterday, 26th Dec., I packed my stuffs but couldn't do smoothly.
But I realized all goods I need to pack are few cloths, some amenities and writing materials.
I hope she doesn't mind I would wear almost same cloths everyday.

Checked my suitcase.
Slippers, umbrella, chopsticks and sunglasses are still inside it since last trip.
Don't forget to have a map and book titled "Sacred Ireland" bought in London.
Oh, also KEZURI-BUSHI and Japanese tea for Yuki.

Checked my handbag.
Passport, International driving license, Flight ticket, wallet, few cosmetics and…
and what?
No, that's all.
Went to bed before 2:00am.

So today I start my trip to Ireland!
Had breakfast as usual.
My youngest brother took me to the station by car (He is very nice brother, isn't he?). I took N'EX 9(Express train to Narita Airport) from Shinjuku and arrived Airport Terminal 1 at 9:30.

Checked in BA.
Thank you for taking my seat as World Traveler Plus (seats are a little bit wider than Tourist Class seat)!!
Not so crowded.

After that I send some mails to friend by mobile phone.
My sister told about weather in Ireland. Forecast says, "Rain everyday".
Yes, that is very country I'm heading for!

Well, I love to see airplanes (of course love flying).
So I went the observatory to have a view.

Very fine today, isn't it?
I really love to see airplanes, especially landing or taking off.
Beautiful!

First meal.
Boiled Fish with white sauce and chips. Crab salad, and dessert. First drink. Johnny Walker (red ravel) and next was white wine. Enjoyed.

I could see Aurora fly over the Siberia.
That's my first experience to see it and that above the sky!
So excited, so beautiful and amaze.
One of flight attendant said, "To watch concentrate could see its move." Wow! That's true!!! It's moving!
How lucky I am!

Watched movie "One hour photo". So so. Felt something like a pity.

H
ad a thought about something.
Wrote diary and some ideas.
Second meal is Chicken-curry. Regretted not choosing seafood-Donburi. If I have a companion I could taste both.

Also fine.
Maybe it rains only in Ireland.
At the passport control, staff asked usual question and I replied.
At last she said,
"Visited in summer?"
"Yes."
"Seeing friends again?"
"Yes…." (With wondering why she knows?)
"Boyfriend?" (Oh, she is smiling!)
"No, sorry…."
"Girlfriend. OK." (Meaningful smile….?)
That's all.

Walked long way to Gate for Departure to Ireland.
Most of passengers don't like walking this way because it seems too long.
But I could enjoy walking.
After long flight I need to move my leg naturally.

Watching people, reading book, writing idea and so on.
I have plenty time to transit.
So I could sleep at lobby for 1 hour!
Got power.

I could meet Yuki at Arrival gate!
Yes, I could recognize her easily, and so did she.

And had a meeting about car rental.
We couldn't get automatic car because all of auto-cars were booked out.
I couldn't drive manual
transmission anymore.
We've decided to go car rental office in Ennis tomorrow.

To Yuki 's House by taxi.
Not so cold outside.
Way from airport we could see christmas illuminations and sky with stars.

22:30 arrived.
We had tea time in kitchen.
Thanks for listening my talk, Yuki!! Nice to talk with you.

Then we went to pub in city.
With Yuki's friends, two Libyan people, Muftah & Monsef.
Monsef is learning Japanese now.
Yuki is his teacher.

Pub was crowded
Could see and listen music session a little.

No Guinness.
Only Powers Whiskey

Oh,
Sorry.
Yuki passed me her Guinness...so I drunk.

Over 0:00a.m pub closed.

Still could see beautiful stars in the sky.

Backed house.
Met Irish man called "Sparky"(I don't know how to spell) .
How fun they are !!
Watched TV, talked, and ate chips.....Whew!

Then, went to bed.
But talked with Yuki by 3:00 am.

I couldn't believe today is first day in Ireland.
We start to travel tomorrow!
